Italian Parliament plans moratorium on oil and gas activity
Italy’s Parliament has approved an 18-month moratorium on all onshore and offshore oil and gas activities, a period when it will assess which areas are suitable for oil and gas exploration and production. If signed into law, the measure would also substantially increase the tax on licenses for storage and exploitation of oil and gas fields. The moratorium affects 73 current concessions, 47 on land and 26 at sea. In addition, the moratorium affects 84 pending applications for concessions, 54 onshore......
