The first appraisal well drilled by Oil Search at its operated Pikka unit on Alaska’s North Slope exceeded expectation, the Papua New Guinea-based company reported. A flow test completed March 19 on the Pikka B well yielded a stabilized, restricted rate of 2,410 bo/d at flowing bottomhole pressure of 1,270 psi and wellhead pressure of 240 psi on natural production.
